Day 6 morning

Just did my ART test and boi... Within the first minute the line bold as ever. Today is the last day of my MC though.

Ha.

The bitterness in my mouth has since improved yesterday. Did I mention it was as bad as sucking on a Paracetamol tablet? Oh gosh it really was bad. Thank god that sweets helped a lot.

Don't really want to start working the day after tomorrow... Like... Though I've been resting, it hasn't been enough...

Day 3

God... Never have I wanted sweets so badly. My mouth has been bitter the entire day. Like I'm sucking on a panadol tablet the entire day. Now I'm trying to use my jelly bean to push the bitterness down

Popped the COVID cherry

Well... It started with me feeling feverish and a headache brewing 

Grabbed a thermometer and checked - 37.7°C

Great. Still had to bite on and compose myself and continue the rest of the remaining 1 hour.

Told my oncoming shift to let me off 10min early since I was feeling unwell and was thankful that they nicely agreed. One of them passingly said "go test".

And so I did.

within the first 5 minutes. I saw that suspicious faint line. I knewI was screwed.

and yep, 10 minutes later, the line so bold as if shaking me up to reality. 4 years of being Covid naive has come to an end. Haha. 

Must have contracted it after a long night of shift at the fever facility, when I pulled the N95 strap wrong and the outside of the mask smacked onto my face.

God. 

Had showered immediately after that, giving my face a good wash.

So it seems... It did not work.

Haha.

Throughout the night my headache was killing me, NSAID didn't help much as I started throwing up bit by bit of what I had eaten for dinner. Definitely from the intestines. It was bitter and not sour like normal throw ups. Took antacid tablets too to make sure I don't have acids murdering me next, but that soon too came back up into the toilet bowl. Such a pathetic joke.

So I alternated sleep with waking up to puke. A total of 10 times... I almost lost count. My heart was pounding at 100bpm, my head threatening to blow up. Knew I had to go see a doctor to get some meds but I resisted the idea of going back to NUH. The patient load there was high enough. So I hung on to my dear life till my GP clinic opened at 8.30am in the morning. Suddenly felt the infection's impact on my brain. Was holding on to my keys, yet went looking for it everywhere. Was holding on to a retch vomit bag only to realise it was gone after I got down the elevator. Had dropped it at the lift lobby upstairs.

Please not let this side effect stay... I'm silly enough.

Local breakfast from 永和豆浆

Bought a little too much hahahaha but ahhh so satifying~

A pity my morning stomach cannot stomach more

After breakfast, it was nua time again~

Checked out at about 12noon and deposited our luggage again while we head out for lunch

As we were still feeling full, we skipped straight to dessert again~

Sesame and peanut icecream 

Super nice! The flavours were infused into it~ 

Creamy and thick texture, the sesame syrup was a cherry on top!

Next stop Ice-cream part 2~

I loved the combi I got, Milk, Green Bean, Mango~

Yumz~ 

Time to lug our luggage again...

I swear everything about Taiwan is great, just the pedestrian walkway...

seriously could and should do better.

Took the metro from Huanbei to Taoyuan Airport Terminal 1

Loved that there is so much luggage space!

Lunch right after reaching cuz we were getting hungry - though it was like 4pm 

Yumz! Also my gastric was threatening to cause trouble... so the soup really helped a lot

Checking in after returning our wifi router~

Straight to the lounge after clearing the immigration customs

Was starting to feel unwell, 

a migraine brewing and my head felt like pressure imbalance and I was feeling nauseated

Bad timing... Wanted to thoroughly enjoy the lounge experience...

At that point in time, I only wanted to lie on the sofa which, thank god was super comfy

As expected this alcoholic went and explored the -OH

And she has officially found her favourite alcohol 😮😂

Chocolate Danish, Black sugar Boba bun, Curry samosa, Laughing cow cheese cube

Italian coffee

Later took some marinated jellyfish to try.

A pity I didn't feel well enough to try more.

Also was trying to leave some stomach for airplane meal.

Luckily, boarding was delayed by 20minutes so we sat down and waited

Took a private hire car by Tada back from the airport after clearing SG customs

Taiwan 2023 Day 6

 

Last morning at Itathao

Last breakfast at the 旅店~

Took 小黄车 to 台中火车站~

The seat of the car puzzled me and gave me maggie lines on the back of my thighs

I swear it was almost like those dust-trapping welcome mat texture

Retrieved our tickets bought online from the ticketing machine

Walking about the station while waiting for the train to arrive

Bought a drink before rushing back up to the platform

The train was PACKED 

Thank god we purchased a seat

Crammed with our luggage

After literally dragging our luggage for about 20min along a very not luggage-friendly path

We finally made it to our 3rd and last hotel 新舍 located on the 30th floor

It was just one floor worth of hotel but they had quite a number of rooms

Good quality rooms, though it was really quite small, 

with not much room to walk after opening our luggage

The toilet needed us to climb 30cm up a step tho, someone please explain this 😂

This hotel knows how to sell its pros, created this common area with tables and chairs

The original eatery in our itinerary needed us to wait for about 15min

So hungry us went straight into Sushi Express right next to it.

No regrets, sushi express kinda gave me back-at-home vibes

Went back to the hotel to check in before heading straight to POYA

Headed straight to the night market for dinner after POYA~

Wouldn't say they're super fresh, and the whole shop smelled like a fish market

2 Happy people after buying one whole round of food from the night market!

The place was less than a 10min walk from our hotel!

Yumz! Loved the pineapple prawn, and the crab stew!

The Takoyaki was kind of a disappointment and lacked taste.

and it was a full tako, including the head. Couldn't bring myself to eat it.

Enjoying the nice view and the peace and quiet of the observatory area after dinner

Not really complaining though, kinda cute

After stashing our steals from POYA, time to crash~

Good night~ We fell asleep after taking sips of plum wine and watching 蜡笔小新 movie

Couldn't believe the next day was our last day in TW!
